The Harambee Child Development Center (HCDC) opened its doors in October 2004.  It is a job creation and early childhood development initiative of the Kanawha Institute for Social Research & Action, Inc. (KISRA).  You might be asking, what is so special about the Harambee Child Development Center ?  Are we any different from all the other childcare centers around?  HCDC is unique and we are a cut above the rest.  Here are a few reasons why:

bulletOur staff members are caring and nurturing.
bulletWe accept children as young as 6 weeks old, all the way through pre-school.
bulletWe accept CONNECT and LINK.
bulletWe serve hot, nutritious meals daily.
bulletOur facilities are modern and inviting.
bulletWe have a sliding fee scale.
bulletWe have an Internet Monitoring System for parents/guardians.
bulletPart-time hours are available.
bulletOur director has Master's degrees and over thirty years of experience.
bulletOur teachers are all certified.
bulletWe are licensed by the WV Department of Health and Human Resources.
bulletWe have video surveillance in the building and on the playground.
