The Kanawha Institute for Social Research & Action, Inc. (KISRA) was established as a 501(c)(3) organization in 1993 by Ferguson Memorial Baptist Church.

KISRA serves and empowers West Virginians through an array of education, employment, economic empowerment and behavioral health services.

The organization currently serves the following West Virginia Counties: Kanawha, Putnam, Cabell, Fayette, Mercer and Raleigh.
