Essential Functions and Responsiblities:

• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them daily.

• Gather and empty trash daily. Service, clean, and supply restrooms daily.

• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees as needed. Clean and polish furniture and fixtures daily.

• Make adjustments and notify KISRA of necessary repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems. Purchase supplies needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.

• Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications. Steam-clean or shampoo carpets as needed. Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors as needed. Dust furniture, walls, machines, light fixtures and equipment as needed.

• Notify KISRA concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.

• Remove snow from sidewalks/walkways and spread snow melting chemicals.

• Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings.

Job Requirements:

At least 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED. At least 3 years experience as a janitor
